MELTING COLLECTION – Sculptural Furniture & Functional Art Objects

Transformation, Material Flow, and Collectible Design

The Melting Collection by Gabor Gobi presents sculptural furniture and functional art objects shaped by transformation, material flow, and controlled imperfection.
Each piece explores the moment where solid structure appears to soften, capturing movement and change within functional form.

Situated within contemporary collectible design, the Melting Collection balances experimentation with craftsmanship. These functional art objects exist as limited pieces, where expressive surfaces and everyday use meet in a refined, sculptural language.

Objects in this collection draws attention to the accelerated climate change of our globe. Human activities have been the main driver of climate change. Melting icecaps, melting tundra, melting everything is our everyday life today. Melting wood, marble is a call for attention not to forget that we have to act together to save our environment.

Materials used are reused, repurposed, salvaged from scrapyards, unwanted furniture picked up from the streets, building materials salvaged from buildings that are under demolition, leftovers from construction and production.
Creating new objects from this materials are the real challenge and joy. Exploring the possibilities and limits of the repurposed materials, and ways people could live a life without taking away more from the nature.
